Still 115 posts to catch up, but I still haven't seen anyone mention an obvious reason that nVidia can't make a gaming console: Microsoft probably made them sign a non-compete agreement. Having said that, an Athlon/Crush PC will play the same games as an Xbox but at 1280x1024 resolution, not TV resolution.

Milo posted a link to Xbox spec, and it supports resolutions up to HDTV, of some 1900x1080, or something like that.

But why is it that people assume that MSFT doesn't want Xbox competible consoles? If MSFT holds the keys to all XBox software (and ability to write games for XBox), additional XBox competible consoles or computers mean more licensing revenues for MSFT and less hardware subsidies.
