Re: "what does Intel have to go up against the faster Palamino? "

A 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 - of course - since the fastest PaloMEatHEad is only at 1.2 GHz.

Thunderbird comes close, 2.1GHZ on LN2, but what does Intel have to go up against the faster Palamino?

I've seen the P4 upwards of 2.8 on LN2... big fat hairy deal. So what's the fastest released Palamino??? Aren't you one of the guys admonishes everyone to focus on released products only?

If you want to look to the future, Intel will have the Northwood out to compete against the Palamino, and it sounds to me you're betting on the wrong horse...

... besides, from what I've seen AMD's taste in horses stinks! :-)
