. . . More Off Topic. . . Due to some Federal Laws, it is part of the reason California is in such a mess.

Everyone involved is to blame for the mess. . . That's a GIVEN. . . That's not the point.

California is well on the way to fixing it's problems. . . BUT, it will take longer than a few months.

If the Federal government does NOT step in and help, I can see California causing many more problems to the Nation. . .

Is that what we want?

I don't think so. . .

It's real easy to say "Let Calif. solve their own problems." and forget it. . .
The Federal government is willing to enforce their obscene laws which helped Calif. get into trouble. . .
. . . but refuse to help solve the resulting mess? . . . That is not right!

All California needs is something to stabilize energy costs for the SHORT-TERM. . . perhaps limiting a gross profit only to 100% instead of 1,000s%. . . ???

I don't know what the answer is. . . but I'm fairly certain that if we don't get some kind of short-term Federal help to stabilize this mess, it will result in damage to much more than just California.

Joe

--OT-- There's actually a sizable and growing Mexican population in the little city that I live near, New Brunswick, New Jersey. The word is out that there are jobs a plenty in the service industry in New Jersey and the Mexicans are coming here to fill them. Apparently employers like hiring them because they're hard working and don't complain. It's funny on a nice summer evening you can drive down a certain street and feel like you are in Mexico with all the Mexicans walking around and socializing.

The melting pot called America continues to melt away.........

*OT*
the officer said that only death threats against the President of the U.S. are technically illegal

Uhh, I don't think that this is actually true. Threats of bodily injury/harm/death are, I believe, against the law. It might be a dead letter law in most places, but I was fairly certain that there are laws against it. Any lawyers out there able to clue me in?
