Amazon Says to Open Online PC Store

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Online retail giant Amazon.com Inc. (NasdaqNM:AMZN - news) on Tuesday said it would start selling personal computers in the second half of the year, saying that while it was a tough market it saw
lots of growth in sales of PCs on the Internet.

``It's a rough, rough business. It's not growing in the physical world, but online it's growing quite nicely,'' said David Risher, Amazon's senior vice president of marketing and merchandising, at the company's annual analyst meeting here. Risher said that while PC sales in physical stores for the first two months of the year fell 23 percent from a year ago, sales online rose 77 percent. Risher added that selling PCs would boost Amazon.com's sales of electronics such as digital cameras and other computer accessories. ``Not only do we like PCs as a business in itself, but we like what it does for our electronics business as well,'' Risher said. Risher offered no further details of Amazon's plans for the online PC store.

>i'll be selling again into your foolishness,
Your track record of telling us when you sell is not very good. Your track record of telling us when you buy is terrific.
Guys like Glenn never knew you dumped ADCT, and left him holding the bag.
