If you glance at Bob's expanded portfolio, and review past posts here, I'm sure you'll notice something: a lot of experienced investors here have "branched out" into diamonds, uranium, base metals, PGMs, etc. If you like the arena of gold mining and exploration, it's inevitable that you will learn a bit about other areas of mining.

Not only does it help to balance your portfolio, but it also helps you to make money in the hot areas of mining, while gold is in a bear market.

Regards,
Geoff

Dear Bob,

It looks like you have a well rounded portfolio which in the event of a gold price upturn should do well. The diversification into other areas spreads your risk while you wait. At this point for me / us do you favor say 5 stocks for mass and bang for the buck or 15 stocks to diversify the risk? All the usual suspects would be included in the second list.

Thanks and regards,
