frog, One correction in my earlier comments (or call it one uncertainty).
I believe that MSFT is capped in the QQQs. I don't know what the upper limit is but I am pretty sure MSFT's market cap is not fully reflected in that index...could be capped at 10% of the QQQs. However, in the NAZ comp, I don't believe there is a cap although it would have a lower weighting in the comp due to the much larger number of stocks.

However, there are a bunch of those high flying biotechs in there (at least 10 of 100 stocks...from my count).
QQQs outperforming MSFT for now but I would expect that to change in MSFT's favor once it breaks clear of 72.25 level you noted.

I like to trade the QQQs a lot as well. (now very long the Naz100)

Good Luck with your trades.

BTW--I heard on CNBC that the VIX was low...you have people thinking that a pattern of the recent past will repeat. I do NOT think it will because now the mutual funds are underweighted technology while earlier this year and late last, they were overweighted.
It is the mutual funds that are going to make the shorts run for cover in the near term...only when Janus/Fidelity types have more exposure to tech would I get a little cautious.

That is now the new game..even more than fundamentals or technicals, imho.
