Brian, with all these short term lay offs, voluntary vacations, and unscheduled time off, do you still think things will be a whole lot better by the start of the third quarter?

I wish there were some sign of persistent optimism, but I find it elusive.

Not a whole lot of things that you can get for $.34 these days. It probably takes more than $.34 to fire up the computer and monitor to read all those unwanted e-mails. But I'm told this is progress.

Fabs being idled is something that happens at bottoms. Other things are:

AMAT buying a small niche semiequip company.

Someone exiting the memory chip business. (Maybe this time, it'll be someone exiting the foundry business.)
