It would depend on where I was living. In Africa, Central America, places where monkeys are found... no. In the upstate of South Carolina, yes.

My wife's uncle kept monkeys in his home, quite a few. She recalls it was a little unpleasant. Towards the end of his life he dedicated the property for a Zoo in Santa Ana, CA (used to be called Prentice Park Zoo, now Santa Ana Zoo) with the stipulation that they would always have a monkey exhibit. I assume the ones there are related.
