mr mark, thanks for the nav heads up. First time I tried it said I'm up-to-date already. The second time it took.

Laptop modem driver: I discovered the 'new' driver foisted on me by Windows Update was really much older than the one it replaced. What's more, the Lucent site had a newer one yet - which I installed today.

I'm wondering what is different about new drivers. No site ever tells us.

Gottfried

I was having the same problem Mark. I tried ZDnet Computer Software update program, for the heck of it one day. "Wow" ! A update for Norton UPDATE was listed, "but I have that I said to myself" ? So I download it off of ZDnet and has keep up with the updates ever since. Go figure LOL :)
