Whats even more sad is to have a "faith" in a God that is always hiding his face from his believers. In a story I posted before here : Message 15610545 Campbell is pointing out to Martin Buber: " I don't know what you mean by God...you are telling us that he has hidden his face , nobody sees him today ..... Mr Buber, I have just come from India where people are experiencing & looking upon the face of God all the time...", When you strip away the veneer of some religions , they can be some of the most nilhistic, threatening and hopeless modes of living there is . If they are based on the idea of being ---->cast out And of being ---->exiled. And nobody can see the workings of the Divine, etc. Such Religions are outdated and will eventually fade away , imo, and they are scrambling to re-invent themselves even as we speak into the modern age .

I mean Solon , if you --->know there is a God and you are going to go to heaven , saved for everlasting eternity... ...it would reasonably follow , knowing that such an event was to take place after you die , that everyday on earth while you lived on earth, would be an endless celebration. wouldn't it ? ( not just on sundays and for only the chosen few) ;-)

Awful! A world view that rejects torture, Hell, and delusion--and offers integrity and acceptance of people as good. Original Sin is so much more intelligent.
