Then she adds that she doesn't want to hear my lectures. I retort that I just want to make a few comments. She doesn't want to hear those either. So I ask her if she has any comments. She does not. :(

A father and his son are out in a field when the come up to a large boulder.

--"Son" the father says, I want you to go and try to move that rock". The son goes and tries, but the boulder doesn't budge.

--"Dad, it is really heavy, I can't."

-- "Have you tried with all your might, son?"--asks the father, so the son goes back and tries doubly hard to move the rock, but it doesn't move an inch.

--"I can't dad"-- says the son.

--"Have you tried with all your might, son?"-- asks yet again the father. The son goes for a third time and tries again. This time, when the father asks he replies

--"yes I tried with all my might".

--"No you haven't" replies the father, "you haven't asked me to help you".

Tell her this anecdote and nothing else. This way she'll ask for help later on, when things get hard, and the rock doesn't budge.
