Bill Clinton has already established the momentum in this direction. And I think in a future Democrat administration China will make its move, knowing America will do nothing.

Bush should try and repair the damage Clinton has caused here. He should make more "slips," subtly telegraphing to China that should it attack Taiwan, America will defend her.
