I was reviewing my "lists of stocks to watch" and by chance I saw the post on NAT (which happens to be in a list of "Natural Resources" I have). I use Worden Brothers to track these lists for various reasons, one of those reasons is the commentary given from time to time on individual issues as well as the market in general.

Their comment on NAT on 4/27/01 was that an ideal entry point on this stock would be below $15.00. AT the time NAT was retracing from what it looks as a third attempt to improve on their recent (3 mo) high of 23.44 (intraday).

Since then NAT has headed higher and it looks like a fourth attempt at their recen high. Where will it go...? hmm that is a tough one and I really do not know... It seems to be stuck in a range between 23 and 17.

Another stock that I found in the same "Natural Resources" list is FTO (Frontier Oil Corp) Unfortunately if one does not own the stock, yesterday they reported positive comments in their 2nd qrtr. results so it is substantially up today....

Earnings advisories

Shares of Frontier Oil (FTO: news, msgs, alerts) are set to trade higher Wednesday morning as a result of the company raising its expectation for the second quarter. Second-quarter earnings will be in the range of $2.75 and $3.25 a share, well ahead of current consensus estimates for a profit of $1.15 a share. The Houston oil and gas firm boosted its full-year outlook to between $3.50 and $4 a share, compared to the current consensus estimate of $1.96 a share. The company cited higher consumer demand and strong operations at both its refineries. The company said these projections do not include the impact of FIFO inventory accounting. The shares closed Tuesday at $13.96, up 0.5 percent.
