Funny you bring up forest management topics. Clinton's forest service director is in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, railing against Bush. Amongst other things, he says roads in National Forests are fire hazards.

Funny that. A former work friend of mine is a volunteer fireman, and my father and many of my parent's neighbors are volunteer firemen in PA. In the event of a forest fire, logging roads are used as clean lines. Not only do they get firefighters in, but they're sterile fields firefighters can use as dead ground to stop fires from spreading.

Makes you kinda glad he's not in charge of the Forest Service anymore.
