Jason, many thanks for all your comments from the meeting. Very helpful. A couple of things you mentioned make one read between the lines: It appears the SmartMedia format will gradually disappear if in the future the cards are mainly MemoryStick or MMC/SD. If Lexar has modified its cards to work faster in the Nikon cameras, then I wonder if the Lexar card can be used interchangeably with other cards in cameras other than the Nikon. My guess is that if it works in other cameras, it still shows little if any advantages over the SanDisk card.

On the basis of your comments, it appears that SanDisk may experience weak profits for the whole year, but steadily increasing unit sales, with perhaps a slight increase in total revenues from sales, and a healthy increase in royalty payments. Increased royalties may offset the lower anticipated margins until demand picks up. Even so, I doubt that the stock will react very positively until the whole economy starts improving. I don't see how the stock could do any better than about 40 for the remaining part of the year, yet if it does this well, it will be doing better than many of the tech stocks.
