So as far as I know, what you are describing is very possible indeed... to move between two or more categories. That is what I described in my PM... As to your questions... I can tell you what they mean to me but I am not an expert (don't shoot the messenger). To me, in the fundamental vs overtones question... my mind keys in on the concept of fundamental being primary or basic and overtone being derived, or implied from the fundamental or basic item. I would normally answer that as fundamental since I tend to be a "bottom line" person. But if I were in a creative mood, I might answer overtones. <Am I being literal or figurative when I ask this question?> Cute!
