Hello 49er,

One would think by now we would be on the brink of a goat entrail crisis. Ken has pleaded his case privately vis-a-vis the Bre-X claim and I must admit I now believe him. You are right. There are a variety of people here for a variety of reasons. Because I fall into the hit-it-big-just-one-time category, reading someone who did just that belittling the investment strategies of others who merely wish to do the same seemed a bit snide to me.

However, we all know that investing for the big one is much akin to indulging in musical chairs. You have to move your butt fast to win--both in and out. Some metals investors have taken kin to the idea of just sitting in the chair until the game ends. I know it's a sorry spectacle to those who are outsiders from the metals realm. Guess I just don't expect that kind of viewpoint from an insider though.

Fortunately for me my main metals/mining holding bought into fuel cell stock for a 50% gain since last October and a % of an oil/gas well, drilling starts in a week/week-and-a-half. Who needs gold?

Regards,

--Alan

RE:"and while I'm CONVINCED the gold is still in Busang"

At least you admit it!
Nice to see you again...

Rose:

Thank you very much for the nice post. I was thinking of you very recently in a complimentary way, you are one of the few people I know who can make money from gold regardless of its price.

It sounds like all has been well with you. I myself have been extremely busy limiting my interest to this board. After the bre x fiasco and the apparent sellout of the producers to the bankers who represented the interests of the cb's, I have attempted to offer a balanced view of the gold market on this board. The effort has not been totally appreciated. However, I hope it may have raised some flags of caution to those lurking in the background, who might be tempted by the pump and dump crowd who are always waiting in the wings to lure the unsuspecting investor into a bad investment.

Ken
