One of the problems with "Symmetrical Triangle" patterns: VPI broke out of the pattern a few weeks back which showed an upper trend line at about 21. It went as high as 22.2 or so in its recent run. It only takes two points to make a line, one can now create a new upper trendline with 22.2 as the intersecting point, and hence a new "symmetrical triangle". Since the other intersecting point is still intact from last fall, a case can be made that a symmetrical triangle is still intact, but its a different one from before.

The high volume remains a puzzlement.
