ya know...I put a box together with an ASUS P7-A and a K6-2 500....it is wonderful
my purchased a PIII 666mhz (or some such close animal) and it is dreadful (Dell).
I was shocked at how much faster my computer performs. I have no need to upgrade this
box at this point. VERY pleased with the K6-2 500.

peter:

Weird...Any hint of good AMD news and AMD gets whacked...Even more preplexing is the current $2.00 negative crossover betweeen AMD and INTC...Look out, is all I can say, when tne market players wake up to the reality of AMD's signifcantly increasing presence in the microprocessor sector, an event, that paradoxically, may be ignited by INTC's conference tomorrow, when today's "increasing Y2001 revenues" story out of AMD is favourably compared with INTC's forward looking prospects!!!

BTW: I am surprised that people still buy a K6-2 500. It's more expensive than a Duron 700!

Some people are still using socket 7 motherboards and would rather just upgrade the CPU then replace the motherboard or buy a new system.
