Mark, the two sites do come up using IE6. I cannot think of a mechanism that would keep you from opening just those sites for weeks. The error message you get is standard and is not really helpful. Could it be your ISP's name server is confused?

Maybe someone else here can get the server number for the two sites and then you can try those.

For trouble shooting possible ISP issues it helps to have a second, free ISP. Juno and Bluelight come to mind. I use Juno only when msn fails [very seldom].

Hi Martin,
Here's a blurb from Fred Langa discussing one possible cause of your problem:

langa.com

Hope it helps.

Martin, try bypassing your ISP's name server:

freerealtime.com [63.104.51.246]

classmates.com [64.124.5.171]

Just paste the number without the brackets into the browser address field and hit 'enter'. BTW, freerealtime worked well just now, but classmates failed!

I use a neat small free program called tjping to get the addresses.

You might try this approach...Ed Forrest reply to Bob Pittsfield about a month back..

Bob
I've had every version of IE 5 installed as they were released and to the my best of my recollection every one has had the repair tool.

Try this click stream again.

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.

On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, click Add/Remove, click Repair the current installation of Internet Explorer, and then click OK.

Ed

PS
I do seem to recall that once it was not on my system because I had some sort of a problem such as a file missing or some other error and had to reinstall IE.
