Yep, I have been living with $300-$400 month electric bills for years during the summer months, and this is in a state that has plenty of power, Georgia. Also, GA brought a new nuclear power plant on line about 15 years ago. It may have been the last one built in the US. But, I can't complain since we do not have brown outs.

There was a nuke plant under construction in Washington State at the same time, but the greenies successfully got it stopped while construction was in process. I know someone who was holding a muni-bond for the Wash. State project when it was cancelled. Once work was stopped, the bond became worthless......but, the greenies were happy. Now, the California greenies want someone to supplement their expensive power bills and give them access to power THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES.
