Kaka,
Hi!!

Did you catch this from the interview in the Austin Statesman? I'll bet Carly "forgot" to mention this when she talked about HWP's "problems"...
:o)

Can't imagine anyone buying any other hardware company...And, to think the squeeze is just beginning in this "boomer sooner land grab"...Six more quarters...Maybe seven...Analysts all seem to think DELL has resorted to this price war due to the economic situation...It's been planned looooong before AG messed this economy up...Why buy anything?

Best, Kemble

RE: Q. Will we have a Big Three of the PC industry?

A. The industry has continued to consolidate. But it's been not as dramatic as other industries. If you look at the last five years, for example, in the United States large-account business. We grew between 22 and 24 points of market share. The next four competitors grew 0.6 percent combined. There was a consolidation, but it was almost all Dell as opposed to competitors. I expect the market to continue to consolidate. We believe Dell is the company best positioned to grow faster than the market. That's not only history but present as well.

There's everything to suggest market consolidation will continue. If you look at industries of this size, it's kind of unusual that it's not more consolidated.
