No, I don't mean to say that they are not rational. In fact, they are very rational. But every theory is just that - a theory. I'd like them to explain to me how an infinitely expanding economy can be tied to a finite amount of gold without either deflation or devaluation. I should add by deflation I mean a reduction in prices, because by their definition deflation is a reduction in the absolute money supply, not the relative money supply.
