Greg, you're just not getting it. This is my last post to you till I get back.

MORAL behaviour is what people DECIDE is MORAL behaviour. The biblical Iraelites, through their leader, Yahweh, DECIDED that slavery, subjugation of women, genocide, etc. were MORAL behaviours. Modern secular society in North America(indeed, many modern religious groups) no longer consider these behaviours MORAL. I account for this by the fact that REASON has become a dominant ground for behaviour in much of modern society, and that a combination of reason and knowledge, and commerce, and affluence have served (amongst many other factors) to improve the empathy that exists among people. I note that where these qualities are deficient, such as in the Protestent Ministers example that was given--that where reliance on the unknown, or in other words, nothing in particular, as a moral guide, trumps whatever reason may have existed in the perp's heads--we also find an inctrease in immorality.

What does one expect to find, or to get, when objective standards of reason have been cast aside? Do you cook a dinner by prayer? Do you land a craft on the moon? Do you get the picture??

NOW WHAT ELSE ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING??
