Well, I certainly would not defend my memory, Id.

However, I recall the Knicks as dramatic underdogs to the Celtics (both the Celtics and the Lakers won over 60 games that year--interesting, I can't recall how many the Knicks won) and assume they were just as much underdogs to the Lakers. It could well be their defeat of the Celtics, however, changed the odds. Just don't recall precisely.

I simply remember being something more than a rabid Knick fan but assuming they would lose each series. And that it was hardly debatable.
