I doubt AMD will ever put Intel down

anyone who thinks that amd will put intc down should only invest in mutual funds. at least their managers are only somewhat stupid not crazy. the only thing which can kill intc is their efforts to branch into new technologies. comm is one. it is possible to die a slow death by constant bleeding. it is also possible that ia64 will save intc which i assume they will be able to put on a desktop machine with a 90nm process.

Mcmoron - Re: "while Intel is fixated on putting a roadblock on every corner, the real danger is some technology coming out of no where, changing the rules and blindsiding Intel "up side" the head."

A lot clowns said just the same thing when a bunch of RISC companies started nipping at Intel's heels.

Intel hasn't yet produced a high end graphics chips - but just suppose they did - e.g,, buy ATI and put the RADEON core inside a chip set.

How fast do you think NVIDIA's sales will plummet ?
