Charles
re: total lack of US Corporate Penetration in spite of a significantly superior product (promised for H1 2000 then H2 2000 and then H1 2001 and now what?) and how about a dramatic one-year Roadmap slippage?
I would like for amd to have at least 80% of market share in corp, 90% in retail, 100% in mobile but I am a bit more realistic than that. Amd's success is amazing and I do not look at the revenue even though that that part is amazing as well. Amd is on course of gaining market share and setting standards for the market. Standard setting is most amazing of them all - 2 years back you would not dream of ldt gaining the level of today's recognition.
And do not ignore the market forces. Once dell business model is fully adopted by ibm and compaq just wait and enjoy when it would backfire. Dell was able to play his game because no one else did....

Charles AMD was smart to wait on SMP. Fortune 500 Companies are buying ZERO or next to ZERO PC's.. We have 175,000 employees yet we are not buying ANY hardware.

AMD was smart to wait till late 2Q to launch SMP. It will be in the pipeline as everyone gets a new Fiscal Budget.
