Re reparations: One idea being floated is to offer reparations in the form of free tuition. In other words, Uncle Sam would pay for all education costs for all African-Americans and Native Americans kindergarten through Ph.D. Would you favor of this as a way to partially pay for past sins? Re flag burning: What's interesting about American politics is that every once in a while, one moves so far to the right that he sides with the left. Case in point is Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky. Over the years he has vigorously defended one's right to burn the American flag because he wants no curbs whatsoever on free speech. He also opposes McCain-Feingold for the very same reason.

Slavery was legal (unfortunately) in this country since early founding until after the Civil War. Considering there have been at LEAST 6 to 7 generations since the end of the Civil War....and there have been at least 12 or more generations since early Colonial Days.... And considering there are many great great great great great (etc) grandparents to consider, and ALL of them with different backgrounds.....and ALL of them didn't have slaves as ancestors.... Doesn't anyone see just how silly the repartition talk is....Are we going to test the DNA on EVERY single person in this country to see if any one person has 100% blood of people who were slaves 6-14 generations ago???? Here's a good article....interesting, and does certainly raises LOTS of issues.... google.com

First of all, that was a great post!!!!! Thanks for posting it...<g> Henri Brooks is just a pathetic throw back to kindergarten, and Al Sharpton needs to lose 150 pounds anyhow, so let him throw his tantrum... I'm sure people are sneaking candy bars to him during his hunger strike, I'm sure he's received plenty of snickers already (pun intended)...<g> These two people are two of the most racist people around, what amazes me is that they were even elected in the first place.....
