That's how I approach this biz. Don't try to work in all sectors or in all market conditions.

For example a trendless, wipsaw market is OK for ST work but not for the Intermediate or longer holding periods that are my niche.

Generally stick with Oil & Gas, Defense, Precious Metals, occasionally other natural resources and a very occasional financial or tech play. Don't use margin and rarely use options. Just a specialized position trader in certain sectors I've worked with for many years.
