Thx Paul. This is good discussion forum.

Balanced, objective and largely free of the excessive emotions that can get a trader into trouble. Heck, I just took a 6% loss in ENE. Would have preferred a gain. But occasional losses are part of the game. You just acknowledge your own DD missed something take the small hit and move on.

As far as mid and sm cap stock selection goes? On mid caps both FA and TA can be combined as circumstances require.

But FA is usually more important than TA when cap size and particularly trading vol is significantly lower. Some of my sm caps start out with very lo volume - below the threshold for reliable application of TA. Don't even talk much about them until volume picks up enough for people to get easily positioned.

NG sm cap, CRZO (hat trick for me 1999-2000) is one good example.

My accumulation of LOILY also began during the typically low volume, pre recognition period. These are often when insiders, industry players and professional traders are slowly accumulating Intermediate and/or LT positions.

2 other completed sm cap hat tricks (where I no longer have positions): PTEN ,and to a lessor extent MVK, had more volume and were easier to position.

Then there are those that are just mediocre performers. TXCO and MMR are just 2 examples of plays that looked like monsters when I entered them. But they disappointed with only 30% gains. So I moved on.

Hope that clarifies the kind of work I do. It's quite different from the predominently ST work which is the focus of most contributors to the threads I read or post on.

Gotta run, am posting too much today.(G)

Best regards,

Isopatch
