Supercomm presentation by MSFT of their .NET windows XP strategy was very impressive. KILLER APP STUFF (=unlimited demand for a must have application) in my opinion. And it has Super wireless implications.

Windows XP. I specifically asked if the communication features (instant messaging, 2) audio/vidio conferencing, 3)
white board, 4) software collaboration, 5) turning upur computer operation over to your remote buddy) of XP would
work with my personal ISP if my buddies and I put each other on our list. Answer was that it would work and that
my screen would show that my buddies were on line even if they used a separate personal ISP. Apparently, there is
some behind the scene negotiating among the various ISP's to establish who is on line. Further. there are features to
allow you to indicate which net device you are on if you used XP on a home network (although it wasn't clear whether
this feature was more targeted to business networks). Also, there is to be some code written to add a less rich version
of these features to Windows 98.
