Curious how that paper shows an average down stream rate of 48Kbps for 1XRTT, where voice and data contend for the same channels and the system is optimized for voice, and then they show only 33Kbps average down stream rate for HDR, where a channel is dedicated to data only and the system is optimized for data. HDR must have really frightened them and they had to manipulate the numbers until they could make it look non-competitive. As a data only solution, it must have looked like a threat to Metricom. Do you really believe that HDR, which has been optimized and dedicated to data, performs more poorly than 1XRTT?
