" 2 completely compatible products "
Intel has done a fabulous job of marketing when it comes to this compatibility issue. The
PC biz and most of the novice purchasers choose Pentium because it is "compatible" with
everything. This is brilliant marketing by the Intel corp. giant and is difficult to get around.
I always laughed (and still do) when new products come out that state that they are compatible.
Remember when compact discs came out and the speaker manufacturers stated that their speakers
were "digital compatible", or the headphones were "digital ready" or the TV's are "DVD compatible".
Unfortunately we are not dealing with an educated public when it comes to PC sales. Servers, however,
are a different story. I think that AMD will actually grow their PC share with success in the server market.
Dummies will follow the IT specialists, and the compatibility issue will lessen dramatically.
