i booted into win98se where i am running ie5.0 with sp1, so that i can review my advanced internet options with you.

first thing i notice is that i do not have the setting you noted, 'Launch browser windows in a separate process'. i don't understand why i don't have it, if you say you have 5.0 and you do have it.

i would suggest that you download and install service pack 1 if you do not already have it. maybe, maybe, that is the difference.

microsoft.com

to check your browser build and if you have sp1, click on help, then about ie and look under advanced versions for sp1
