Tony,

Thanks for the info on SSB. I wasn't really serious, but now they are out from further consideration.

Yep, good news. I'm actually surprised.

John

Tony and thread, comments I took during the just completed Intel CC. Thought you would like to seem them.

ted

______________
Intel CC:

*Flash and Microprocessors sales are at expected levels;
comm. chips worse than expected.

*Flash sales continued to slide. Expect flash to bottom before comm. chips......maybe July.

*Inventory channels are at the same level as beginning of quarter. However Intel's inventory levels are expected to be up a little this quarter.

*Margins, ASPs will slip this quarter.

*June quarter reflecting seasonal changes as opposed to macroeconomic problems.

*Does not think they are losing more share to AMD; in fact, they think they may have taken back a couple of pts. from last quarter.

*Order cancellations are running at normal levels. See no inventory stockpiling by customers.

*Was unwilling to speak about specific products.

*Logic factories are not running well.

*Operating expenses are being brought down.

*Someone asked why Intel's comments are inconsistent with comments from PC hardware companies like HP. Bryant could not explain why there is inconsistency....seemed annoyed.

*Order patterns were normal throughout the quarter; no early orders because Intel can ship right away. A little early to see back-to-school biz. There is no stuffing of channels...normal second quarter.

*Intel is up in afterhours.
