NetZero and Juno to Merge into 2nd Largest ISP

NetZero, Inc. (NASDAQ:NZRO) of Westlake, Calif. and Juno Online Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JWEB) are merging to become the nation's second-largest Internet service providers.

The all-stock transaction, valued at approximately $70.7 million, would place the company second to America Online in the country's ISPs, "ahead of Microsoft, Earthlink, and AT&T (Worldnet), based on a combined total of more than 7 million active subscriber accounts as of March 2001," the companies said in their announcement.
