Maui,

Good notes, thanks. A few comments:

re: "- Routine June in terms of demand for uP. Market share : lost some in Q1. Not loosing anymore (Andy sounded somewhat hesitant)."

He also said that although he couldn't be sure because he didn't have AMD's numbers, he had a "sense" that they were maintaining market share, and "with luck" they were gaining share. I thought he sounded confident, considering that this was one of the "off topic" subjects.

re: "- Clueless Joe from ML : Inventory stockpiling. Andy : we dont see any inventory stockpiling in the channel."

This was Osha's attempt to ask if they were stuffing the channel. He asked if Andy thought customers were ordering to build products, or to build inventory. Andy said there was no way to know, but that all the customers knew that Intel could ship immediately, so it would be very strange if they were building inventory.

On the last question of the call, to an unrelated question, Bryant said that they were NOT "stuffing the channel". He said they were "shipping what they want, when they want it" to customers.

Pretty much shut down Osha and the other analyst that claimed Intel was padding the numbers by stuffing the channel. It's an ugly accusation, IMHO. If reality doesn't meet the analyst's projections, blame the company, and invent bad business practices. Reg FD has these guys grasping for anything to keep their credibility.

John
