Pravin, Re: Andy Bryant is full of it (for those of you who didn't already know), and the analysts sounded like they know it. I expect a negative reaction tomorrow.

Yes, Bryant was extremely evasive and didn't give much details. I was surprised that he didn't even want to give historical(!) data (how much Q3 is usually up compared to Q2). It looked to me that he didn't want to say anything he has to regret in six weeks. But I still think the market (including Intel and AMD) will be up tomorrow. NASDAQ futures are already up 50 points and both AMD and Intel are up 4% in AH compared to the regular close. IMO the markets really want to hear good news right now to have an excuse for a rally.

"I just listened to the conference call. Basically, Andy Bryant is full of it (for those of you who didn't already know), and the analysts sounded like they know it. I expect a negative reaction tomorrow."

No doubt you listened with an objective ear considering you have no bias. Pretty simple really.....CPU's stabalizing, communications sucks big time....what else is there? What day do you think AMD will warn?

Pravin, Re : "I expect a negative reaction tomorrow."

It would surprise me if Intel drop below 30 tomorrow (or in low 20 again in any near future). The H1/H2 ratio of 45%/55% revenue translates to about 13.2B/16.1B revenue. Intels revenue could be 7.5B in Q3 and 8.6B in Q4. With potential upside from improvement in communication business later this year and next year, the revenue comparison will start look significantly better year over year (relative to last 2-3 quarters) beyond H2.
Margins may start improving later this year and next with .13 (and a little of 300mm).

Of course, all these assumes that Intels forecast holds.

Maui.

How's your anti-Intel picketing going over at CompUSA ?
