The key to that report on BRCM was that it saw that their is a light at the end of the tunnel for the slowdown in chips. That was what the large traders on Wall Street picked up on and they started buying and that forced the shorts to cover and that is how you get a stock up 13% in one day. There has to be shorts in the stock for it to rise that quickly because the short covering causes momentum to the upside.
