In CA. parents will have to choose between electric and gasoline bills and new computer. These are the parents with the $300K house, SUV, yard man twice a week, etc. Crass generalizations don't tell you much. What is the average income bracket for a PC buyer in California? What % of that bracket can't pay energy bills or has lost their job? Answer that and you will have some useful perspective. Of course, we know overall PC demand is dropping mostly due to slowed down corporate purchases so playing home economics won't really teach you much. JMHO. This thread seems to have a high standard for explaining a call.
