Prolife/Antideath: Your rancorous slip is showing. My main purpose in posting the piece from Drudge was not to high-five myself, nor to snicker, but rather to show that what is happening to the daughters Bush also happened to the daughter Clinton. In both cases, the presidential parents were not pleased by the focus of a magazine piece. In fact, the Bush girls are receiving the same treatment that Chelsea received.

That is the point. So open your eyes once in a while and read the entire piece before lambasting me.

The real reason why the Bush girls are "fair game" for publications and TV networks is that they are newsworthy and "sell magazines." Years past, when we lived in a kinder-gentler society, the "press" didn't bother with such. (Except, perhaps, when Margaret Truman sang in public.)

So what's driving such coverage today of First Family offspring? Simple. Corporate profits/corporate greed. All large media today are controlled by mega-corporations, all of them with stockholders to satisfy. And how best to sell more magazines or get more viewers to tune in at night than to run scrambled stories on America's First Daughters.

That's how one gets ahead in the world of business these days ... by increasing sales/profits. We live in a chew-em-up, spit-em-out society these days. The only thing that matters is the bottom line.
