Brian/Michael/Threaders*** playing the percentages from here with AMAT and other tech stocks.

It has become obvious as of late that these mid quarter conference calls are the next best thing to the actual earnings report. So if the mid-quarter conference call serves as a proxy for the actual report, then the price of AMAT or INTC or NVLS at the time of the call (within a day or two afterwards) will be a proxy for the price of the stock when the earnings are released. This should give option players a leg up on those that are just the LTB&H.

Lets look at INTC. Closed today about 31 per share. If Tomorrow and Monday it trades as high as 35 or 36, and then settles back down to the low 30's I would buy both the stock and some options at 30 or 31 in anticipation of another run up as earnings are released..

So far the stocks that have run up nicely on these mid quarter conference calls have been NVLS, XLNX, and INTC.
Is there a pattern here that we should be aware of? I think so.

Regards, Jerome
