Yes it is, they've lined up just about every airline out there, plus thousands of hotels, dozens of rental car companies, and the cruise liners.

It's really going to be the travel site of travel sites.

Expedia and Travelcity, plus a consortium led the by the Travel Agency industry petitioned the government to shut it down even before the first page was built!

They had hearings in Congress, which determined they could go forward under the condition they would review things in a year, and determine whether any anti-competitive monopolistic issues were evident.

Can you imagine Microsoft whining about a monopoly? And Travel City which is something like 85% owned by the ONE company which controlled all the software travel agencies have used for years? Too much...

My prediction is in a year Orbitz will be the number one travel site on the web. Surpassing both TravelCity and Expedia in market share.

hmmm, it might be a good time to short Expedia? The only thing which makes me hesitate is the entire travel market over the web is growing very rapidly.
