I dont think china as the enemy. However, if I lived in a nation on their borders or what I presume they wish to have as their sphere of influence I might think differently. Historically though the Chinese have never had territorial ambitions. However, there are MANY enemies of the USA and most of them are run by MAD MEN perfectly capable of doing some very stupid thing. I know some feel our nuclear deterrent is sufficient but I doubt it. I doubt we would destroy a nation of innocent people because a mad man destroyed NYC for example. We need some kind of deterrent to prevent being BLACKMAILED by these damn fools. JDN
