<<I interpret "falling short" as not YET making it. Eyes on the horizon. A bit of optimism doesn't hurt.>>

jpgill: I like that approach...thanks for sharing.

Here are a few early morning quotes to ponder...

'Man's mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.'
-Oliver Wendell Holmes

'Imagination is more important than knowledge.'
-Albert Einstein

'The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.'
-Arthur C. Clark

John Wooden's Seven-Point Creed: Making the Most of Oneself:

1) Be true to yourself.
2) Make each day your masterpiece.
3) Help others.
4) Drink deeply from good books.
5) Make friendship a fine art.
6) Build a shelter against a rainy day.
7) Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.

'There is nothing like a dream to create the future. Utopia today, flesh and blood tomorrow.'
-Victor Hugo

Come to think of it, RR could write a really good book. He's got the discipline, a good storyteller, he could mix in inspirational stuff w/ his own story of failures & successes in business/law, along with stories about wildlife. It would work.

RR ya listening? Maybe when you retire in the far distant future, it would be a nice pastime.

Hi jpgill! Hope your weekend is going great. It's a beautiful weekend here.

You put it an excellent way regarding missing a goal as not having failed but rather just not quite having gotten there yet. Reasonable goals can be met if one is willing to work for it.

I think a key to success is something I've seen in your very posts more and more. Optimism. Confidence. Getting away from that fear of setting goals and falling short, as you put it.

Congratulations, my Friend.
