If the threads were assembled by invitation, and truly private, she would have a point. However, they are not. Rather, the situation is like that of an Open House, where persons who are legitimately present under the terms of congregation are unceremoniously shown the door, often for arbitrary or petty reasons. Of course they are offended. Additionally, the threads are all public, in the sense that all can read them. Therefore, one may lurk and see comments about oneself or matters of importance to one that are insulting, inaccurate, or just provocative, and not be able to respond. For these reasons, the moderated threads are legitimate objects of controversy, although it is possible that the benefits outweigh the objections......
