I'm afraid people get their noses rubbed in such things all the time.

I understand.

We all participate here for our own reasons. Our interests are not all compatible. We all gotta deal with it as we see fit.

Neocon had an excellent point which you haven't addressed yet -- that on moderated threads things can be said about people which they can read but not respond to.

From what you've said, I understand that you think it would be fair if a person opened a moderated thread titled "the truth about X the Unknown" and posted all sorts of things about you and moderated off you and anybody who supported you.

I take it you don't see that as being wrong.

The other thing you've never addressed is that people have paid to be here and use the site. It's different from not inviting people to your home.

Suppose you paid for a yearly pass to a museum, and when you paid the rules were that you would have access to any exhibits, but later a collection was set up and you' were told that while most or all other people who bought yearly passes can see the exhibit you can't. You ask why and you're told because the person who set up the exhibit doesn't like you.

You're telling us here that you would say "oh, okay, that's fine."
