I've long used Ellison's spleen as a good indicator for where the jungle is heating up. The more he pounds on his chest, the better it looks for the competition.

It's only when he keeps his mouth shut--not too often--that you really have to get worried. Ellison is dangerous when he sticks to his own knitting.

In terms of my own holdings, I hope his mouth keeps on a flapping then. <gg> We have to keep in mind that these guys are flapping their mouths because billions of dollars are at stake. Certainly worth the fight. In terms of the e-business operating system game, BEA Systems holds the largest market share with the next important market share going to IBM. So Ellison is flapping his mouth for thirds on this one. No need to mention that dynamite applications companies like Siebel and i2 receive plenty of jawboning from Larry as well. Yet, word around is that Ellison gave quite a show yesterday.
