Well, at the time my ego thought the joker was serious so I gave it some serious consideration and sent him back a list of stocks I felt could do that, but not in one day, more like a one to 6 months. So anyhow, as it was a joke, and since I don't do penny stocks, I knew there was no chance of it happening. But it did get me thinking. Yes, I do think from time to time- fact is some people say that is one of my bigger faults I think too much. And I carry the head aches to prove it. But to the point(as beer makes me digress). What I think we should do here- because we have a good group of powerful brain um power. is give serious thought to that notion on a more than joking manner. I'm not talking contests, or anything competitiver to say "hey my stock is kicking the shit out of yours", but how about if we all(or anyone that wants to participate)- wait I need to run to the frig and get another beer).... .....work on scanning our hundreds of stocks that we sort of track and post five(5) of the best candidates we can think of. If we do this, there will be no laughing at anothers pick. This is meant to be a serious thing. If you don't like someone's pick, just let it go. But I would be willing to bet that as a group we can come up with enough that can turn 100%(under almost any market conditions) before the end of the year. One thing I will admit is sure ain't like the fat 90s where "Club Quad" was en vogue". I miss those days so much I could drink another beer. Okay. I brought the idea to the table. Let's have some discussion on the matter. Is it a possibility, is there a way we can all do this and score from it, or is this just the beer talking? What further I would propose to begin is that you post the stock, and an entry point w you would feel comfortable with. When it hits that "magic number", you post it in GREEN BOLD, and we can all then make our own judgment calls on it. One thing though I think would be mandatory is that if you do the GREEN BOLD on it, you invest your real money in it so you putting your money where your mouth is. As an add on, it would be helpful, though not mandatory to give a brief summary of the company, and why you feel it has a shot at it. Also, if you are going to post it, make sure you post where/if you are planning to place a stop if it don't go your way. What is today? Saturday? If I get any interest in this notion, I will post up my five stocks here before tomorrow night. On a final addition, I suppose some of the picks can be short, but if that's the case, be sure to let it be known what your expected gains will be. IE: If it's going to zero($0) tell us. Don't post a short pick unless you feel copmfortable with the possibility of it turning 70% or better(IE: $50 stock cover at $15, or $100 cover at $30- is that math right?) I think I'm getting a little punch happy on the key board so I'm gonna give it a rest on cluttering the thread for a while. P.S> When is the next piffer(or grope) gathering? I'm gonna be on the best coast in early October(my birthday is on the 7th- I hit Titleist 100 compression balatas<hint hint> But will settle for a few free drinks, or al least just a happy Birthday. Birthdays are the most important celebration in my book. Screw Father's day, mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas(wrong time of the year any how), I don't go for those comercial crapola created to make us spend money thingies. Oh yeah, annavewrsaries are important to me too. I remember the very first date with Mrs. West as if it was yesterday. But guys, a bit of advice don't get married around a major holiday or your wif's birthday, we're talking fast track to pennyless. My first date(which we celebrate) was Nov. 19th. Her B day is August 18th, WE got married(at the time I thought it was romantic- now I see it was stupid) on Dec 23rd) and then I got christmas. Man you talk about pathetic. Better yet, just say no to marriage. Cohabitation is great,(we did it for four years) and even kids that way are cool if there is love, but be careful on spreading all those dates out. Okay, end of spew. I think, hope. sure. Gonna go rake the grass(with about 7 beers in me. The neighbors should get some good entertainment out of it. P.S> E$DIT::::::: Even thoug one of my majors was English lit. I know i can't spell worth a sheet. plus, I need to het a new keyboard, I notice my "a"s are sticking, and the space bar is busted on the right side. Can't imagine why. Hey JXM, Went to Kmart yesterday and bought three new calculators and three new remotes. Gott thing those things are both now under $10. I remember my first, or one of my earliest calculators a TI35(?) cost like $125. But that was when I was a tool maker and needed other functions. But even those can bbe had for a fraction of the cost they were back then.
