i agree. please tell me, to your knowledge, and from your experience, would the win98 registry checker found in the system tools have been helpful? i suggested that patricia try more of the tools (others being version conflict manager and directx diagnostic tool), but she probably did not get to that point before the tech support call that fixed her up.

it seems to me that running windows registry checker, which scans for errors, would be a plan. maybe not.

if patricia was fixed up with a reg restore that fast, then we here on the thread spent a lot of time making suggestions that were of no help.
